Blue Eyes

Blue eyes
When I look into my eyes I see
A whole life of you that has passed through me
They speak a million words for each one you spoke
and direct my views to each you evoke.
I remember your eyes
Like a story which told no lies
Pale blue like the shallowest waters
A feather floats on the lightness of your gaze
yet told a thousand lives
of loves and lies
and an owl of wise
with no surprise.
I remember that moment
you lost your eyes
The flowing waters of your life stopped to rise
How quick they dried to barron landscapes
from which you once where
an arrid desert there
you story ended
Then at sunrise
I saw in my eyes
a flicker and glimmer
of life within her
carried through and within
as the waters there-in.
Author's Notes: This is a poem I wrote when someone very dear to me passed away. I was with them, with each last heart beat.
