Love on Beltane's Eve

Love on Beltane's Eve.
The sun is lowering In the Western sky
Turning from blue to gold, pink, and red.
With the horizon a strand of green, as if
Reflecting the green Earth beneath .
Suddenly, one by one, stars are emerging
Like diamonds, in the deeper blue of the
Vaulted heavens of the nearly night sky,
Reflected in the paler blue of your eyes.
This night is magical Beltane’s eve, a night
Of passion, and love so I encircle you tenderly
With my strong arms, and lower you to the
Green earth, and our bodies merge in passion.
And in our delight of one another summer issues
Forth, from the King and Queen of the May.
