Hecate Moon

Air of the north
Fire of the east
Water of the west
And earth from beneath
Born a babe
On samhain eve
Born a babe
On a doorstep we leave
Born a babe
Of elements true
Born a babe
For me and for you
Crowded round the quilt
Which she’s clad
Are angels of good
Demons of bad
Half of her darkness
Half of her light
She begins
And she ends the fight
All but loved and
All but cared
The darkness took over
With darkness she shared
Secrets of mothers
And daughters alike
Passed down through the ages
Through witches of white
The secrets she gave
Are all that he needs
He dropped her and left
Her to pay for her deeds
He thought she was simple
A child with all sins
Little did he know
What she would begin
Madness crept in
As sanity crept out
She was cursed forever
Her face set with a pout.
Author's Notes: I wrote this for a play. We did the secret childhood of Lady Mcbeth. I wrote this to give an explanation of why she was like she was.
