Pagan

The mountains stand before me as a new sun breaks the sky
Its warmth spills over my face and heats my body
My heart beating faster as I scan a lightening world
That sparkles and shimmers from light to shadow
Nature's poetic edda surrounds my soul
With its little worlds and scandals hidden in snow
Bared branches beckon me with sensuous delight
But I will remain where I can see all its beauty
I thought I could carry this forever with me
But it is already fading in memory
How pagan of me
So I return to the mountaintop to refresh my memory
And stir my spirit with eternity
I will have to turn away soon and feel sunlight on my back
Say goodbye to a world of dreams and stillness
And wonder what shapes will emerge from under the snows
What litle plant will struggle through
How will the light change in time
My curiousity will eventually being me back here
A need that cannot be ignored
And a desire for mothing less
How pagan of me
