Zeus' Medallion

Age Group: Teen
The Sun, hangs in the sky
like Zeus' golden medallion,
constant and reassuring;
His presence warming the Earth and your heart.
But,
soon the light begins to fade and the battle of the shadows begin.
The Moon rises like a ghostly battalion
from dead waters;
translucent beams clamber
over the Earth,
shadows retreat to corners - lingering, dancing as though teasing.
