Plastic Pagans, wooden wiccans

Plastic pagans, wooden wiccans
Oh lets go see the Plastic Pagans play
With Plastic flowers, upon designer robes,
Its designer drama for designer droves
See High priest and priestess the wooden wiccans with authorised ritual wrote
Nature a backdrop, but nature not to touch
The worlds a stage the scenery must be set,
For today is plastic Goddess Day
And this is going to be the best production yet.
Rituals by rote, bought by the ream
Listen to how they look and sound, not what they mean
Who cares, who feels, how false the feel
The effects the same, the theatres the thing
So much is missed, no power raised and used
Look at me, pay attention, that’s all, that’s all
The tribe disjointed their faith abused
When the lights burn down and we all depart
The supplicants, an audience, diminished and set apart
As we go our separate ways dissatisfied, not light of heart
Who’s to blame who’s to blame?
Such a pale stain of what might have been
So ill a shadow of what’s gone before
The lightness of being, heavy on my heart
Standing separate, feeling apart
Sorrow of the missing, why search and seek
The old religion dies again, not cursed by the strong, but practised by the weak
