Night/Sight. by Durin

Night/Sight.
Walking through the woodlands
In the whispering of autumn night,
I saw the flash of silent feather
Too soon the owl outpaced my sight.
And then I continued walking
The dark paths of a sylvan night.
The yowling of playing fox cub
Hidden safe from human sight.
And still my journey wanders
Along the ways of the dying night,
And I heard the sounds of waking day
A sparrow darts across my sight.
Now my friend I am close to home
At the dying of the night.
But something huge and fearful
Is slowly looming into sight.
My eyes they now slam open
In the whispering of autumn night,
My heart is beating hard and fast
Calmed by the room’s familiar sight.
That fear is almost dispelled now
it retreats as does the night,
but it waits in the familiar corners
almost out of sight.
I know I’ll meet it soon enough
Sometime tomorrow night
But if you’re here to hold me
It might not taint my sight.

Author's Notes: this one is purely made up by letting my imagination trundle off on its own and show me what it can do.
I hope you like it and if anyone knows if this is a particular poetic structure can you let me know.
