Cruel day of days.

Cruel day of days.
Its cold this day; and bitter
As the laughing children play
And the busy housewives; they flitter
Different custom, different house
Christmas bears down on lonely lives
As cat bears down on transfixed mouse
And relatives all in buzzing hives
Bitter mothers and worried wives
And what for the lonely one; stands aside
To watch that most bitter fun
Where once he was; where once he cried
And gained a lonely broken heart
Soon lost beloved future bride
And cold this day; so bitter
What do they call as children play?
How do they name this cruel day of days?
Why my friend they smile and jest
And call this lonely hell the ‘holidays’
Soon will come the test, as inside I cry
A child’s shining eyes “this is the best!”
As my eyes watch a spirit die
For not now is it yet the gifting time
Merely just how much you buy.

Author's Notes: take from this as you will. you can probably tell it isnt my favourite time of year, I hope yours goes better :)
this is quite different from my normal ones in structure, I hope you like it.. and that it doesnt make you too depressed.
