The Walker is abroad, abroad
See his ancient twisted form
A man once of ancient liege-honour
He heralds the rising storm
The walker is abroad, abroad
He holds encircled cross within his hand
One of the six made symbols
With which the Light may stand
The walker is abroad, abroad
On the snow clad green lane
Look into his eyes old one Will
Do you recognise his pain?
The walker is abroad, abroad
With long held terror in his eyes
None yet know his name; he hides in vain
From dark skies the Raven flies
The walker is abroad, abroad
By Wayland’s Way he’ll give the sign
As is passed the cross-ringed emblem
The Sun comes on to shine
The walker is abroad, abroad
Yet now his task is done
But he turns away from one once loved
Under a weak midwinter sun
The walker is abroad, abroad
Yet we must leave him to his sin
But we have the lost name at last
Poor, Beloved, Human, Hawkin.
