path of emotions

by Nathan

Age Group: Adult

here is a tale of two souls met,
with pain and heart ake but no regret...

almost a year it has been,
since these two people forever seen,
for on the 10th of march it did so,
they started together on the path of woe,

the 18th came and what was to come?
true loves first kiss at the castle, lips numb,
and for one month of pure happiness and delight,
it went on, without a fright,

then lighting struck in the hearts of two,
and they were torn apart from what they knew,
they saw each other every so often,
helped along by people forgotten,

there was his cousin on their side,
who helped them run, helped them hide,
and birthdays that together they met,
and it seemed that love was forever set,

but hard it came with mighty force,
and bad news swept through their course,
to difficualt it was for both of their souls,
and june it ended leaving holes,

now they saw nothing of each other,
tears fell down, because of his mother,
6 months on pain in the two,
yet one moved on to something new,

one came back to find the other,
with someone else, another lover,
yet feelings that were in the past,
did not fade and grew back fast,

new couple because of this, did not last,
damn those feelings far from the past,
so now both were on their own,
friends nothing else, could be shown,

yet november came and friends they were,
although those old feelings began to stir,
and from the words of the one with the mother,
three words past along to the other,

i love you were the words to seal,
and all pain wounds soon did heal,
his love for him had not died,
and for those 6 months he had cried,

back again the other did say,
i love you to, in here it does lay,
and he placed the others hand on his heart,
now they would never ever grow apart,

december on grass they layed together,
let go they would not, nope not ever,
for love clasped in each other palms,
and wrapped together in each others arms,

now it comes from good to bad,
for christmas holidays came so sad,
they would not be able to see each other,
all because of his horrible mother,

and so for weeks they each sat alone,
thinking of the other whilst at home,
but eventually love did shine through,
and meet did they, and the love they knew,

now january it is right now,
and hard it has been you ask me how?
well one with the mother is trapped at home,
and the other waits sat alone,

for bad news struck and hard times came,
now it's gone back, back to the same,
they fight for each other seeking whats lost,
they do not care about the cost,

and every so often they meet again,
and the love once felt goes back to the same,
talk they can but not face to face,
that comes all with good grace,

once a week maybe the case,
but thats what happens in loves race,
they are together happy at last,
with their feelings from the past,

and even though it's not all they could be,
they're happy together, with the love they see!

Author's Notes: i wrote this to make it clear to myself, the path my boyfriend and i have gone through over the past year.

we met in february 2004 went out from march to june, and then his parents found out, well they are homophobic, and well lets just say it wasn't pleasent....

i had death threats and everything from both his mother, his step father, and his older sister to stay away, they locked him in the house....seriously, all doors and windows, when they went out so he couldn't get ou to see me, and if i tried anything they said they'd either kill me, or go to the police with sexual harrasment yada yada yada...

well it's been a year so they have relaxed a bit, and now we are back together, mwahahahaha, see unlike before i'm not scared of them anymore, and neither is ben, so we shall continue to see each other..yayness, well anyway this is how it's a sad story : (

Update 2012: Wow I'd forgotten all the little details that had happened between me and my teenage romance. It's nice to look back and remember these things... but as a poem, structure and rhyme wise it's awful! xD
