Eyes

Do you empathise?
From beyond a sea of sighs
How I want to find what lies
behind your eyes.
Black as coal.
Window to the soul.
Sometimes lensed with tears,
sometimes avert in fear.
Could it be an incantation?
Is it just my desperation?
You smiled at me, my heart melted.
I'm watching you, I just can't help it.
My world is churnin'
'cause I've been watching your eyes.
My heart is burnin'
'cause I've been watching your eyes.
My body's yearnin'
'cause I've been watching your eyes.
Read my hand.
You might then understand.
It's the sunlight in your hair,
your fragrence on the air.
Your eyes, oh so black,
watching me right back.
Brooding all the time
but can't make up your mind.
My world is churnin'
'cause I've been watching your eyes.
My heart is burnin'
'cause I've been watching your eyes.
My body's yearnin'
'cause I've been watching your eyes.
I can't help watching,
I can't help watching your eyes.
