Too soon

See a star twinkling on the skies
like the tears that well up in your eyes
Misty-black like the darkest ink
I would explain it, but I just can't think
'coz my soul is damned to kingdom come
my heart is banging like a drum
my blood, it boils under the moon
so don't speak too soon
Catch your eye from beyond a sea of sighs
and slowly die, like I'm on a sea of knives
I'd work it out if only it was clear
I try to listen but I just can't hear
