Frozen Hearts and Bleeding Souls (2)

Beauty and the Beasts
She walked in wonder through the night
For to her eyes it seemed
That darkness was more beautiful
Than all she'd ever dreamed.
The gnawing cold did her no harm
For Moonlight warmed her soul
Since that night when love's first bite
Transformed her, made her whole.
She saw all now, she heard more,
She could taste the very air,
But then a sound, unnatural,
Something that shouldn't be there.
They caught her in her solitude,
Her love was far from sight;
Her waking dream a nightmare now
Of burning blinding light.
Hopelessly she made her plea
But none would take her part;
Her cries for help fell on cruel ears,
Then the stake was in her heart.
They left her lying on the snow,
The mercy of their kind,
Like a withered bloom, a dead rose,
For her poor love to find.
Who would have thought, since it is cold,
That a vampire's heart could break?
But still it can and so it did
When her love saw the stake.
He raised a storm of rage and tears
And screamed his pain and hate.
The ones who slew his beauty
Did not know they'd sealed their fate.
