The Moon Is Crying

The Moon is crying.
Crying over her children of the Earth.
The ones fighting. The ones killing.
The ones dying.
She cries over the ones in wars.
The ones who have left their families
And never came back; who can't come back.
Over the ones killed by their own brothers and sisters.
She cries over the brutality of her children.
Worse than animals, all they can think is kill.
One word, over and over:
Kill. Kill. Kill.
Most of all, she cries over the world
Ruined by people, people dying all the time,
People rushing about, with no time just to stop.
And look at the world, what they have become.
No time to talk, they ignore her,
Sleep when she is about, bored with her presence.
But she is the one who looks over them at their most vulnerable.
She watches over them as they sleep
But they don't notice her, she is just
An inconvenience in the night sky, shortening their precious days.
And that is why
The Moon is crying.
