Dragon Soul

Age Group: Adult
With fear you tremble down at their feet;
Beings of emerald and ruby, your eyes do meet.
Such majesty, no-one could ever deny,
With grace and passion, spreading their wings to fly.
Great roaring voices boom 'cross valley and vale,
To be recorded and heard in many a-tale.
Amber eyes stare down upon the Earth;
Filled with power, like fires from the hearths.
But I see them as the spirit of men -
From plain and valley, to the glade and fen.
Each one locked within our very inner heart,
Waiting to be unleashed, to be free; yet, never part.
Author's Notes: So, one night, I was thinking of another poem I wrote called Within My Soul, and I thought I'd write about Dragons. I scrapped a few versions, gave up, then this one came to me. ho hum!
