True and Final Peace

Where have all my feelings gone?
Why has all this darkness come?
Yet, why is my only comfort,
To be as I am now?
See past my face; see within
My inner-self that to you I bring.
Hold me ever closer, my love,
Let me show you who I am.
I am but a journeying old soul,
Who now takes peace in this cold.
Remember me always, my dear,
With this, my final breath.
My body to be one with the ground,
So that the Great Cycle may go round.
I cannot stay much longer:
Weep not, mourn not - we'll meet again.
I'm leaving now.
Author's Notes: Death. The final and only true peace.
It is said that at death, or just before, 'everything' becomes clear to you, you lifes flashes before you etc. The character experiences that. He is lying down upon his deathbed, and at first feels sorry for himself, as his feelings are leaving him, the darkness is sweeping over this, but then realises that.... it's ok!
The truth of death comes to him (Like what Dumledore says "After all, to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure") , and he realises himself as an old soul that has journeyed so much, and now will rest and find true peace until he sets off again.
This isn't something to be mourned of, or cried about - after all, they may not be apart forever.
