Inner Turmoil

Confusion growing inside of me;
To know my options to set me free.
And turbulence flowers in my mind
With so many answers I try to find,
To solve this riddle that plagues me so:
To leave it be or search forevermore.
So many choices that fly before my eyes
Choosing wisely to find the right prize -
For I yearn for peace and for tranquillity
Only to give my heart true stability.
Leave me be! Leave me be!
Turn around and run Shadow, I plea!
I am but a mere soul on a lifelong path -
Why do you curse me with such wrath?
I am a Lion, and I shall hold my own,
This is the tenacity for which I am known.
You will never win. I have made my choice,
And decided never listen to your voice -
You are but a whisper to me, a mere ghost,
And never again shall my soul be lost.
Author's Notes: Started out as a personal poem, to do with a certain emotional situation, and turned into something more spiritual. Funny how it morphed....
