Haunted

The damage you’ve caused inside of me
Thoughts and memories racing round
Each one washing over me tearing open a fresh wound
My soul cries at the thought of what you did
And even reading these words of pain, do you really care?
You’d see my heart bleeding and stand on it still.
I can’t escape the evidence, it haunts me.
I long to go back to feeling nothing at all
My heart no longer trusts, not even itself
Left in self doubt, in a nervous state not sure of anything
Paranoia feeds off my thoughts whizzing through my head
If only you were here to reassure me, but you’re not
You’re away again getting up to God knows what.
If only I could trust like the naďve fool I was before
But you’ve changed all that
My faith and belief in you gone
They disappeared when I read those words.
So much pain you’ve caused my heart.
I want to break down and cry and scream “Please no more!”
But I can’t. Life goes on.
Alone I am again you become a figure on the suburbs of my life
