Halloween 2012

To those who visit, small and great,
I had to go, I couldn't wait
For me this is a busy night,
upon my broom I've taken flight.
So don't bother knocking on my door....
or boys and girls you'll be no more!
the last poor child who broke this rule
no longer has to go to school,
instead now he's all slimey and green,
and my garden pond is seen!!
But for those children who are good,
and listen well, as children should,
in the bag you'll find a sweet.....
it's not a trick- it is my treat!
But remember- others may come after you
so please,
take only one, not two!

Author's Notes: I wrote this to leave on my door as I had to go out on Halloween this year and didn't want the local kids to be knocking on my door and aggrevating my dog- but as they had made an effort to dress up and come out on a wet and cold night I did't want the children to miss out either..
