Dawn Prayer

*Hail to the Sun!*
we greet you here
at the doors of the morning
Lord, bright and shining
Horses the color of flame
draw fast your chariot
from east to west
Lord, we thank you
for your warmth
for your light
bring heat to the mother
wake her up!
You brake through the clouds
gold rays crowning your brow
your light gilds our cheeks
As we praise you now
*Hail to the Sun!*

Author's Notes: the colors and brightness of the sun coming up over the horizion in the morning was the inspiration for this poem.
