Author's Notes: This poem is about the Alaskan willow. I absolutely love this tree. It is patient and tenacious, growing wherever there is enough water. I saw one that had been knocked down in the woods near my house one day and marveled at the fact that it was still growing. (It sent up new sprouts from the original trunk. 6ft tall) When the tides turn towards spring this tree greets it with the softest pussywillows. This is also one of the few trees up here that have male and female genders. I have taken my magickal name from this tree which I love.
