Your bright rays herald the coming day
the world turns towards your arrival
graced with the gold locks of dawn
you climb over the horizon
Master of an infinite number of sciences
you show us the many ways that we can learn
your will is sharp as the spear you carry
Grey eyes flashing in the storm
you clear the clouds of ignorance away
to make the beginning steps of our path
free of any doubt and uncertainty
Gracious son of Danu
you who leads the armies of the sidhe
you who are the sergeant of Nuada's forces
against the shadowy hordes of formori
You bring light to our darkness
solace after trial
you ease our thirst of not knowing
coming with the brew of understanding
that leads us through any trouble
comforts us in our tribulations
Lord of the West,
you are the one who welcomes us home
after this term of learning that we have
the wonderous tapestry called life
Hail to you Lord of Light
Hail to the Lord of One Thousand Sciences
Hail to the Lord of Harvest
Author's Notes: The polarity of light and darkness always interests me. I look to Lugh to help me along with the task of learning any new ways. For me he is always the Lord of Light.
