Being *Pinged*

It happens quite often
it can hit me many times a day
my fiance' calls it *pinging*
and he says it is a way
of keeping in touch
I am minding my own business
I am doing my own thing
and all of a sudden
I'm hit with a mental *ping*
I drop what I am doing
I look around the room
I seem quite lost for a moment
I look really confused
Its not just him
it can be from anyone
that I know or care about
can *ping* me at any time
I send out my feelers
I do a mental sweep
I check to see if any one has notice
of my sudden lapse in activity
I get a color or a sense
of who exactly is letting me know
that they are trying to *call*
A smile crosses my face
the mundanes around think that I am crazy
I do a quick clear of the area
I do a energy sense on me
I make sure that I have enough
to *Ping!!!* them back
I take a deep breath
I make sure that I will not injure them
I make a mental note
to call them by conventional means later
I say a mental *What?!* and *Ping* them back
I go back to the activity that I was doing before
I continue on with my day
I calm the curious looks around me
By saying "sorry about that, where were we?"
About fifteen minutes later
or whenever I am free
I usually get a call
from the one who *pinged* me
they normally say
that they were just checking on me
I thank them for caring
I ask them if there is anything that they need
but try next time to please
don't *ping* so hard
I am always here
Author's Notes: I love the communication that I have with the ones that I love. So far, only the females in my family and the people that I work magick with are the ones who are strong enough or have a close enough bond with to be able to *Ping* me. I really don't mind them, but sometimes in public situations, It can be sort of confusing to the normal onlookers.
