All soft and slinky black
you are my boyfriend's cat
A sweet disposition
we rescued you from
a family that was mistreating you
we weren't too sure
how your behavior would be
or how you would take
the other furry member of our family
You fit right in
eventhough not everything is perfect
you are definitely a trickster at heart
maybe you came as delagate
of my boyfriend's patron
maybe it was simply your nature
but you are the most interesting cat
You know that you are not allowed on the counter
for that is where we cook and clean our food
(and yours!!!!)
Yet you insist on sleeping on it, right in front of the microwave oven
You know that you are not allowed to be in the pantry
I close the door everytime that I find it somehow open
soon strange sounds start erupting from within
*bam bam bam*
*scratch scratch scratch*
*thump jump thump*
I go see to has been making the noise
I open up the door
A black streak runs across the house
only to settle himself upon the bed
With an innocent look that says
" What's that look for? I've been here sleeping the whole time!"
You insist on sitting where there is already someone
Not on that someone's lap, not you,
You squeeze yourself between that person and the back of the chair and proceed to kick the person out.
You are the vainest cat that I have ever seen
you will sit in the bathroom sink for hours
and look at yourself in the mirror
if no one notices your beauty, you will yowl until someone comes to admire and praise you
I shake my head quite frequently
when I see your antics around the house
You appear and disappear at will
and you are quite the lady's cat
bringing friends home eventhough you are neutered
You join my boyfriends workings of magick quite happily
Yet you won't cross the threshold when I am working mine, not so much to even come in the room
Yet on a day to day basis you are quite happy to lay in my lap and get lots of pets from me
With all your quirks
with the fact that you are very much a brat
I still love you midnight cat
Author's Notes: Midnight is one of the two of the furry children that my fiance' and I have at home. He is very much the spoiled boy and can be very bossy. (Right now he wants his computer seat and is currently trying to kick me out) He is really sweet and a child of the Trickster.
