The Nightmare

Age Group: Adult
You hear a voice inside your mind
There is something you wish to hide
You want to end your suffering and pain
One look in the mirror and you feel ashamed
Those voices you hear are getting stronger
And you're not sure if you can hold on any longer
You see them you cry there are tears in your eyes
As they appear they say there is nothing to fear
You hide in your room you won't let them in
They break down the door and look at the sin
You cry and you fight to keep them away
They hold you down to try and make you stay
You scream and you fight you want to break free
They tie you down because they could see
They hit you so hard that you're out cold
You wake up in panic you jump to your feet
You look around the room everything is neat
You lie back on your bed and sigh
It was just a dream
Author's Notes: I believe this is a bit more of a story than a poem, but i tried to turn it into one.
