A Cloudless Night
by Blackbird
Age Group: Teen
As the rain falls from the cloudless sky and the stars flicker wildly,
An owl hoots in the distance and the trees creek violently,
Shadows cross the woods so dark and gloomy,
A wolf howls and the sun is gone,
Another wolf joins the eery call,
She shows herself over the dark snowy, gloomy peeks,
Ready for another night,
lady moon has come a calling,
I sit upon a bed of flowers and watch her grow ever higher,
She shines like a diamond in the dark cloudless sky,
Watching us fall asleep like a mother watching her child.
