Prayer for Difficulties

Om! Ganesvaraya Namah!
Lord of Hosts
Happy, studious lord
Ganesha
I need help now
Please lift your trunk
so strong
Sweep clear my path
During this trying time
Your eyes,
like deep pools of water
cure my thirst
in this desert of not understanding
Knowledge of the cosmos
resides in you
I come bearing the sweets
of my heart and my yearning
May your axe cut out
those bad habits within me
The demons and their voices
that say *no!! you can't do that*
*no!! you're not good enough*
With the broken tusk
may you write
a better verse within my heart
Teach me to write my own happy ending
to my own fairy tale
Sit me down in your great lap
and whisper miraculous stories
of victory and of overcoming hardship
After I listen to your words
I will whisper words of love
and devotion to you
With your noose of discipline
guide me along this hard path
gently my lord
I know that your ears hear the cries
of all of us
Please Ganesha
First honored among the Gods
Lord of new beginings
Please listen to me
Om! Asritaya Namah!
Author's Notes: Om Ganesvaraya Namah means salutations to him that is the Lord of the multitudes
Om Asritaya Namah means salutations to him that is our refuge
This is a prayer that I composed to honor Ganesha and it helps in times of mental and financial hardships.
