Dawn of Inspiration

by Llywelyn
 Age Group: Adult

In the midst of boredom, In between yawns Inspiration suddenly desperately dawns Out of the chaos of quiet confusion Dawns bright the morning of enlightened intrusion
With hammering heart and shaking hand I stumble through a desolate land, A portrait of a broken mindscape, Lends itself to a written escape
Violent swirls of broken thought Memories rise like scars Earned from battles fought Patience be the trophy virture Ensuring that I won't come unglued And botch the plans so carefully lain Though I feel at times I'll go insane Written words a solemn truth, Echoes of my inner pain
So many people come and go, They come and go and never know They never know, they never know
The smile imprinted on my soul To coat the lies, and cover and hide The struggles that never will show
So rarely do friends come and go They come and go, they come and go They also go and never know
These struggles, my sacred holy war Holding tightly ideals still fought for The vision of a distant shore, Feeling faint but fighting evermore
All my friends have come and went They've come and went, our time together spent
And I'm left alone in a field of ghosts That haunt and whisper and take me as host And remind me of those I used to love most
And show me that I'm not much more than a husk A playground for myriad gods and ethereal dust That taunt me always And urge me forward That push me closer To the truthful horror That life is beautiful And a killer Indiscriminate, and a mirror Of myself and of my kind
Naive ideals I'm forced to leave behind If ever again I'm allowed to shine I must turn this graveyard into a shrine
A moving, loving, insurrection All that's dead receive the resurrection And all the years of endless introspection To finally flower into fruition
All my friends that've come and gone They've come and gone, They've gone, they've gone All my friends have come and gone The strength of solitude is what I've won
And so I march on, And on, and on Always looking for victory , Over mountain yon
In the midst of boredom, In between yawns, Hope for the future suddenly dawns With every word that I write Though solemn contrite, I begin to almost believe I might, Actually be able to Win. This. Fight.
