With Gods to Fly

I have a voice
Burning bright
From the highest tower
Hear me cry!
Unto this despairing world devote
These few words I mote
Hearken to this passage wrote
Beneath such bounteous, loving leaves
I sit beneath the all knowing Tree
I feel its power flowing through
Like crystal fire passion brew
Feelings like I never knew
Feeling fire furtive fervor
Wide-eyed willful wonderful wonder
Filled so much, I feel so much
It hurts it threatens to kill
My mortal heart to fill and burst
It can't contain the pleasure hurt
I feel so strong when light descends
I do so wish it had no end
I cannot but stop to write
Come with me, lay down your fight
I feel so clear with Gods so near
I feel no shame, I feel no fear
I feel so much that I must share
The music loud, it bursts my ear
It's always there for me to hear
The words they flow they do not slow
I can but try to get them down
My feet have left the solid ground
My soul it flies, glory abounds
The Gods' true love and joy I've found
I stop for a moment and take it in
I close my eyes and go within
The darkness sweet in light's relief
The God's their goodness they do bequeath
Thanks to my sweet Danu
To me you have always been true
Thanks to heaven far above
For sharing with me abundant love
Thanks to you whom ever weaved
This beautiful bounteous eave
Beneath which I do receive
The words I write, such power sweet
Such gifts you give to lowly me
I'm coming down once again
I feel this body I travel in
I feel it's quite a gift I've been given
So I write to share this gift
To touch the spirit, help uplift
I make my call, I send my thoughts
Across this space, to you, to all
Who read this missive
To the Gods be ever submissive
They will take your outstretched hand
And lead you to the promised land
They are watching ever mindful
Of our daily drowning struggle
And they will take us far away
In the land of fabled Canaan
With us forever they long to stay
Let the Gods, my friend, take you away
Take you away
Away
Author's Notes: I did it! I put into words my elation at this path I've found. The longing that I felt at finding a new home finds resolution in "With Gods to Fly." Thanks for reading :)
