The Mind

A cold wind rustles your sun bleached hair
You hear a voice but no one's there
You look around because you find
That an eerie chill's creeping up your spine
You say you're silly and start to whistle
When you feel a chill and your neck hairs bristle
For something brushed you that made no sound
You start to ignore it but you look around
And get really scared for you could've sworn
That just a moment before your sleeve wasn't torn
You start to run you get faster and faster
While the forest around you echoes with laughter
You wish you were home but there's no turning back
Because everything is spinning and the world is turning black
You hear a noise but you're confused you cannot name the sound
And then you're cold for you have died your body hits the ground
The next day you're found where you had fallen
Around you no man or beast has trodden
For the thing which caused you to be slain
Was the unknown thing we call the brain
This may seem far fetched but if you think you'll find
That there just is no limit to the power of the mind.
