Blooded Moon's Eternal Curse

Age Group: Adult
A creature of the darkness he wakes and comes forth at evening's fall
To quench his thirst for people's blood who after death rise at his call
He opens wide his wordless mouth and with a hate filled cry
He glares at the rising blood red moon which will not let him die
And then once more for he is cursed he kills to drink his hated meal
Yet not one person hunts him down for no one thinks his kind is real
In his eternal home on bed of stone with hands atop his breast
He breathless sleeps just like the dead for days of silent bloodless rest
Yet once again when blooded moon ascends the darkened midnight stair
He walks among the living who know not the danger that is there
With steps as silent as a fog he stalks 'til window he draws near
Where he's let in by some poor soul so deep entranced they have no fear
They give up all their blood to get what they call immortality
For they know not how much it hurts to live for all eternity
And though they say he has no heart knowing full the pain it brings he cries
And waits outside to greet the sun which burns him to ash and so he dies
But next blood night the moon shines down on yet another glaring face
For no matter how many vamps are killed there's always more to take their place.
