Must it always be so dark and cold
Why can there be no light in this place
No hunger or reason for keeping my life
Hanging on by a rope made of paper thin lace
My darkness it seems all consuming
Not one small point of hope can I see
No direction just floating blindly throughout life
No prospect for redemption not one purpose to be
I look at my hands and they're stained
With the blood of all I could have been
Every chance that I butchered and mangled
Left me all alone and less likely to win
A last failure it seems in my life
Is the one thing I must surely take
And with that there is finally hope that it ends
In sweet oblivion for my sake.
