Starbright

Starlight, starbright,
First star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Ask why I pray to you tonight,
There's war in countries I cannot see,
Famine for children that can't run free,
They don't love like they ought to do,
For a marriage in one is divorce times two,
They talk of the things that should be done,
But they all look out for Number One,
There's men who hate and women who cry,
Brothers who kill and children that die,
The Blind, who know nothing, lead the blind,
And talk of the treasure they're bound to find,
They've forgotten our words sent down from above,
Like Joy, Hope, Honor and Love
I take up my place and ask, "Who walks WITH me?"
I can never find one that could ever agree,
I can only do things that will better THIS me,
and shine just like You for all to see,
So Starlight, starbright,
First star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have your care to shine so bright.
You're so smart to stay so far away... this world is a dangerous place for people like us.
Author's Notes: I wrote this one day when I was depressed. Seriously, it was all on the top of my head. I thought of the rhyme "Starlight, Starbright", and it all came to me one by one after that.
