A Second Look

In this nation, where freedoms are prized,
Hatred exists more than realized.
Freedom of religion, the Constitution states,
but you're evil if you're a witch,
and should be sent to Hell's Gates.
We are not evil, but we believe differently,
For this reason, we are persecuted endlessly.
Several priests are proof, evil lies in all,
the molestations show, evil came to call.
I have helped many a person that
'good Christian people' just passed by,
They didn't want to get involved,
or just didn't care to try.
So, next time you meet a witch,
and evil is what comes to mind,
Maybe you should take a second look,
They may be the nicest person you find.
Author's Notes: I wrote this one day when I was tired of being called a devil worshipper and evil. I thought, rather than be angry about it, maybe I could change someone's mind by posting this on poetry.com. I hope it worked to maybe give some people a different look at us, but I'm not sure it did. Oh well, what can you do? LOL
