A Piece For Pan

The forest glows by the light of the moon
In the distance a fawn grazes on the lush grass
The air is crisp and the wind smells of leaves and nature
The clouds pass by the moon obscuring it from view
As the moon's light emerges a beam strikes a distant figure
He seems to bask in the silver sliver of light
Bathing in the brilliance of the mothers glow
Becoming intoxicated by its luminance and power
As the light grows his horns and hooves sparkle in the night
He casts his blessing upon the land and turns to face the moon
With pipes of wood and reed he plays his haunting song
Filling the night with love, beauty and peace
The protection of Pan covers the Earth for yet another night.
