In Dreams

souls jumping to a
techno beat
in the silver twilight's
burn
and the verses on the vine
seem to lose their meaning
to the bloody iron thorns
see the girls dance in spirals
'round the empty wishing well
as the voyeuristic Gods look on
and the world turns with them
in a waltz with the stars
so the dreamers can hear the song
so many lives pass
like a single deep breath
on a resonant one-note wish
and I'm losing mine
in the intricacies
of a world that can't exist
and I'm losing my mind
to an imagined hope
that I cannot make exist
[[Dream Lover, come back to me
from your Kingdom in the Wood
and carry me away to
the Faerie Tales
like I thought you said you would
you promised me you would...]]
Author's Notes: I know Faerie Tales can't exist. So why do I insist on trying to live in one?
