Conversation with the Stars

spins the World
on Her heart
when the Mimes
dance their morbid
words
‘cross barren minds?
ask the Sun -
He’ll answer
with elaborate lies,
ornate as winding,
well-whittled filigree
thoughts.
or find the Old Man
down the way,
in the thatch-roofed
cottage -
His wife’s a Witch
(she’ll give you herbal tea
and Riddles) .
“You looking for a
Stairway to Heaven?”
She’ll cackle,
“Take the elevator,
it’s much faster.”
or you might try the
Dryads -
I hear they know a lot,
and the Clouds might
help as well,
painting answers in rain
on the asphalt
in the Moon’s
omniscient
eyes -
you’ll figure it out
in no
Time.
