The War

The War
What is one more life?
I hear the news caster say.
We have taken so many,
Who will notice one more anyway?
So many children without their mothers
Do we care?
They aren’t OUR sisters or OUR brothers?
If you look away….You can pretend our cause is just.
That death and destruction are simply a MUST!
They look different from us
They don’t follow the same god
We should blow them all up…
Really *ahrmmmmm*
that logic’s NOT odd!
It’s the will of our leader
Make them all scream and die
Begging for mercy
from an unfeeling sky
How can you claim to be a religion of LOVE?
When you senselessly order more death from above!
No thought to the lives that are lost!
Consumption of OIL driving the cost!
Can’t you hear the sadness?
Miles away their sorrow flies on the wind.
Into the ink,
caught on this pen.
My words a vein plea
to the egotistical and moronic powers that be.
Please….
Show us we are not monsters!
we are capable of love!
And the shadows of doom
Need not rain from above.
Like bits of driftwood left in the sun
Not caring who takes them…
silently waiting ….
For the world, we have won!
