The Kingdom

The Kingdom:
I have a kingdom,
all of my own
A mountain, the valley,
o'er which I have flown
The air in between,
it vast fills the space
I fly like a dreamer,
stepping with grace
Through the air to the peaks,
and then back again
This is my country,
where only I reign
I rule it at dusk
and into the night
Nobody knows me
or heeds my flight
My subjects mean well,
as well they might...
For they know the daytime
but I rule the night
Author's Notes: I wrote this DECADES ago, when I was in my teens, June 1984... at the time, I wondered why this poem came out of me (they say nothing comes out of a person that isn't already IN them) , it seemed to contradict my good Christian upbringing. Fancy that! I am very new to the Path; I am beginning to see pieces of the puzzle that were in place long before I even knew.
