My Wiccan Version of the 23rd Psalm
----------------------------------------------------
The Lord and Lady are my Keepers; I shall never hunger, nor shall I thirst.
They make me rejoice as I imbue and embrace the beauty of Nature and green pastures; Earth
They instill and guide me to uphold the Creed of higher ethics and to harm none; Air
They ignite the passion of my Spirit and blaze new paths for me; Fire
They move me to the oceans, rivers and streams of this Life; Water
Though I journey through the valley and transitions of Light and Dark,
I fear nothing; As the Lord and Lady are always with me;
My rod and stang are symbolic tools that comfort and protect.
I prepare an altar before me in the presence of those who have Harmed;
In my Circle, I am anointed at my crown with sacred oil; My chalice spills abundance.
I shall receive the returns of my actions through the cycles of life, death and rebirth
And I will walk the Path in Love and Light until my last breath.

Author's Notes: One quiet evening, the phrase 'my rod and my staff, they comfort me' flew through my head. Having studied nearly every religion, I instantly knew the origin: The 23rd Psalm. As recalled it, I instantly noted the Element references... and thus this Version was written. You are certainly free to share it and use if for your own, as long as you do keep the Author information (yeah, the legalese) intact.
