Where I feel at home

Age Group: Teen
Rushing past the trees
grass up to my knees
the occasional crack of sticks
(I hope I don't become home to any ticks)
the scurrying of animals
the fluttering of butterflies
in this place I am at peace
so do not bother me please
I climb up a tree, and see what there is to see
the forest far and high
seems like some trees could reach the sky!
I climb back down and find a place to nap
lie in the grass with my cat on my lap
the sounds, the wind, the colors, the trees
oh how this place feels like home to me
