by Gwydion Ap Alder

Age Group: Adult

Asleep, with eyes closed, ears stopped tight by religious dictums, they plod through existence.
Somnambulistic dancers swaying slowly in rhythm to the basal drone of social conformity.
The bright light of wonder has left their weary eyes replaced with a jaundiced boredom.
Grey people devouring a diminishing world swarming like ants on a fresh spill of sugar.

It is time to awaken, cast off the lie that humanity is Earth’s master and see our place in Her dance.
So many broken spirits wander aimlessly, seeking happiness that only comes from connection.
Awake, breathe the breath of life’s green exhalation, and join the circle that has endured eon’s passage.
Let your feet begin to move once more in the spiral dance that binds us all together as kindred.
Plants, animals, earth, air, fire, and water moving in a delicate ballet synchronized by interdependence.

Open your eyes and your heart to what surrounds, feel the ebb and flow of life’s rhythm about you.
Let the melody enfold you in this age old Dance, join in, and let your heart ride life’s verdant swells.
To live, to truly see, and then dance, connected with all the wonder that surrounds us, Sleepers AWAKE!
Forsake your somnambulist plodding’s and choose to dance with the sweet joy of life in the moment.
Leap and twirl, spin and sway, release yourself into the music that is the Earth’s song.

Sun set, Moon rise, the Season’s changing patterns, the passage of days, years and ages.
Parts of the great Spiral Dance in which we are but flickers of light, ephemeral and yet eternal.
Sleep walk no more, join the dance, feel Earth’s ancient music and let your feet move to Her rhythms.

A gift we’ve been given and so a duty is owed, do not close your eyes once more and forget.

Awake now! Come join the dance that began those many long ages ago and will continue into eternity.

For never were we meant to plod dully through this life, we were meant to dance, to sing and to truly live!
