I love...

I love being a witch. I love the rainbow of candles stacked on my shelves, the cauldron filled with the change from my pockets that lives next to my computer, and the crystal cat that Will gave me two birthdays ago who sits up so straight on my altar. I love running energy through my body, feeling my palms tingle and glow, and just feeling It in that moment when 500 voices join as one Aaaaaaaaaa.
I love that the cells in my body, the cells in the mountains, trees,
fishes, puffins, penguins, parrots, turtles, zebras, kangaroos, panda bears, all are connected, all are alive here on this Earth. I love sitting silent, eyes closed, focus inward and I love wildly dancing around a bonfire screaming chants while drummers keep time. I love quietly, spontaneously lighting a candle at 3 am while my kitties gather to watch and I love planning then facilitating rituals for hundreds of likeminded souls. I love moon circles, convocations, sex magic, rituals, artist's dates, drum circles, workings, and playing fetch with Athen.
I love the zillion reminders that She that He that It is here, that I
can Call Them, that I can Invoke Them, that I can Aspect Them. I love the esbats and sabbats, the blessed be's and merry meets, saying Samhain not Sam-hain, and all the rest of the lingo that makes me feel so connected to my brothers and sisters. I love the truth tarot cards speak, the way old tomes feel in my fingers, and how pendulums seem to go nuts around some people. I love rocks, plants, rivers, and most of all the ocean. I love knowing the aspects of the planets, which herbs taste best in tea, and that in Europe kitchen witches are thought to be good luck.
I love that when I speak my spiritual truth women around me suddenly have magical stories to share no matter what spiritual name they choose to claim. I love Crowley, Gardner, and Buckland, I love Starhawk, Ravenwolf, and King and I love all the others who taught me how to sing loud, how to dance with passion, and how to be me without wondering if that's ok with anyone else. I love all the mothers and fathers of all the traditions that have come before me and I love all those yet to come. I love the colorful people I've met, their more colorful wardrobes, and how they truly know how to accessorize. I love the perfect golden pentagram that hangs around my neck, the one I searched so long and hard for. I love that there is no book telling me I'm right or wrong for what I believe and how I practice. I love that I get to make decisions based on the things I think and feel are important. I love all these things and I love magic because damn it, I was meant to be a witch.
