He Was The Good Witch

He was the good witch who stood by his mate,
and like his wife, he was burned at the stake
He was the good witch who danced for rain,
when the rivers ran dry, and no one could explain
He was the good witch born again and again,
in a world gone berserk and often insane
In this land of hope versus fear,
he is the good witch who will,
always be near
In the Goddesses' world where hope replaces fear,
he is the good witch who will always be near

Author's Notes: This poem was one of my first efforts to connect with my feelings and beliefs as a witch. After writing and recording this piece, I. was determined to see myself as part of a collective community of powerful pagan people who understand the horrors of the past as well as the challenges of being a witch in the modern world.
