Dragon Initiation

Scaled hiss,
What is amiss?
Where is the mane
And fiery flame?
Watery secrets
Creep,
Barred by mountains
Steep.
A face
A voice
A touch
The protective paw
And vast gaping maw,
Where have they gone?
What have I done wrong?
A bearded chin
Hidden within
Guarding a Sacred Treasure
Waits to take my Measure.
Scaled hiss,
What is amiss?
Whence are they?
Why not stay?
Seeping mysteries
Flare,
Reacting to seeking
Stare.
A face
A voice
A touch
The protective paw
And vast gaping maw,
Emerge again tonight
Below dancing starlight.
Glowing eyes filled with mirth
Take count of my new birth.
I am the Hoarded Treasure
And far within hides my Measure.
Author's Notes: This poem is used in private ritual once one decides to begin working with dragon energy in our group.
