Song of Rememberance

A footstep falls within my lair
As a draft lifts darkened hair
Caught behind in dragons' tail
Stepping out behind the veil.
No notes caress expectant ear.
Instead a voice the night sears
With velvet words of tales old
And forgotten purpose foretold.
Return to me unlocked yet again.
Spin away, let's once more begin.
Fallen scales, forsaken mane
Taken up slowly once again.
His words dive down to my core.
His name I knew once before.
Suspicion I must now disdain
To ease this shifting pain.
Released memory unfolding now
How can one forget such ancient vow?
My own stone finally unearthed
Brought across the sea for this rebirth.
Another illusion falls to melt away
And yet within this realm I still stay.
There is more than one form true
Whether skin is pale or scales blue.
Come home again within my heart.
I am ready for the healing to start.
Return to me as you have asked of me!
Ease this shift within clouds gone green.
The secret now at last is told
Of travels of Scaled Gold.
At last I can now understand
The purpose coming to this land.
The clue was within the sky so blue
And a speckled stone so green I knew
Across the sea yet not to the shore
Hidden deep below ocean's roar.
Twice had I nearly been pulled home
No more as a human to above roam.
The third call has at last been heard
And understood, every word.
