Keys to Doors That Don't Exist*

I only have keys to doors that don't exist.
How did it come to this?
How have we come to this?
Glass like burnt skin shed on the ground
And it all tumbles down.
My blue sky is falling down around me.
I try to drown you out,
To deny you, to out-shout
Your screams in my head.
Other half of my halfling face,
Melancholy and black lace,
Smother me in fluttering fears
Ringing soundlessly in my ears.
An ink spill on my horizon rising like vampire bats.
Suck my blood and tear my hopes away.
Say what you want to say to me.
I'm disinclined to aquiest to your request.
I disagree.
I won't fall down again,
I won't give in again.
I refuse to be bent
Like a fake flower on a wire
Into wide eyed fear.
My conscience is such a bloody a liar.
I only have keys to doors that don't exist
And now it's come to this.
I won't let it come to this.
Cease and desist.
It hasn't come to this.
