Once there was a girl, weaving all the shadows.
In and out they went, tearing all the cobwebs down.
Faceless and alone, wading in the shallows
Of her mind.
And once there was a dream,
sleeping through the nightmare,
Tasting all the fruit, crawling on the limbs all tall and bare.
Still searching for the voice,
that might take the twining world away.
Once there was a tree,
with roots that followed all the clouds,
down into the earth,
where the light went
when the sun went out.
Oh, once there was a stream,
flowing upwards,
upwards.
Until it turned to ash,
and stopped it's flowing ways.
Once there was a world, but it turned all inward.
Echos of the light,
swimming through
the waiting girl's mind.
