The Noose

there is strawberry syrup on the floor
sticky, sickly sweet
scarlet stains burn down the door
close your eyes and listen close - it beats
vibrations in the air of pain
arch your back, stand on your toes
the red falls down like rain
and from the sky there hangs the moon
it's face pale as death
it's slowing tides a dying tune
choked by the sunrise teeth
the sky is staring into space
blue seaglass smooth as night
fringed by twilight, darkened lace
staring, bleached of sight
