I awoke in discreet
Watching Alexander’s Hordes
Grasping Your arm upon my horse
And racing through his dust
We climbed the mountains quickly
And made love in the song
I awoke to the bleat
Of the stone god’s face in ivy
As you kissed me open sweet
And we knew ourselves again
Then to breathe in the mist
Of Dragon’s tongue licking quick
I awoke to kissed sweet
From Your crimson pains
And drank from skull’d trophies
That gathered my enemy’s fame
And in deepened tombs we slumbered
While I wondered at Your name
I awoke to pouring sleet
As Arabic alchemist fallen
Gathered in vials and retorts
I spied You in the crowd
Then graced You with jeweled diamonds
And watched You dance aloud
I awoke to nothing
In lands of hate and rage
And saw Your face a burning
Through times of scorn and stain
Though we pressed herbs to lips
A pleasure to fade from place
I awoke once more
To laughing veils of sight
To hack my Mark on the door
While you sipped wines of delight
Then apart we flew like magnets
In Portuguese Men of War
I awoke with prides of envy
To wonder anew Your face
Some call Sophia and treasure
My silver Goddess trace
And in the hills of Venus
I delved beneath the Dawn
I awoke to bitter light
As false gods took their sway
And preached in ink stained tomes
With calligraphic letters a-flame
Yet Your eyes stared into me
From each letter on the page
I awoke to a gentle kiss
In Fairie light upon the hill
Raised in zephyr mists
Amongst my coven still
You took me by Your plan
Then made me forsake my mortal sand
To remember who I was and am still
